Are you planning to pursue a career in the wine or grape industry? If so, be sure to apply for one of the unusual scholarships sponsored by The American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV). Each year, ASEV awards a number of scholarships, of varying amounts, to individuals pursuing degrees in enology, viticulture, or in another curriculum that emphasizes science related to the wine and grape industries.
Applicants must reside in North America and must be juniors (or higher) in a relevant 4-year college or university program. Undergraduate students must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 and graduate students must have a 3.2 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Completed applications must be received by ASEV no later than March 1. Awards will be announced during the organization's annual meeting, which is held each June. Scholarship recipients will receive quarter or semester stipends, and must verify registration prior to disbursement of funds.
